History
The Wyoming Nonprofit Support Initiative was started in 2003 by the Wyoming Community Foundation. The Wyoming Association of Nonprofit Organizations was registered in 2005 as a Wyoming nonprofit corporation and recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) in 2008. Due to funding issues, there was little activity from 2008 to 2011. In 2012, efforts began to reinvigorate the organization. These efforts were led by Align. As part of this reorganization effort, nonprofits executives across Wyoming overwhelmingly endorsed having a statewide association that would advocate for the sector, serve as a trusted information source and facilitate professional development and networking opportunities. The Association re-branded and started doing business as Wyoming Nonprofit Network. Membership recruitment resumed in 2013. Each year we have continued to grow our membership and our programs.
Today, the Wyoming Nonprofit Network board contracts with Align to provide management services. A portion of these services are provided in-kind by Align. Jody Shields, VP for Align, serves as the Executive Director for the Wyoming Nonprofit Network.
We would like to recognize the following supporters that were instrumental in our reorganization phase (2012-2014).
